Visual Communication and Design students Showcase their works

Cyprus International University, Faculty of Communication, Departments of Visual Communication and Design and Digital Game Design Students displayed their works in the Exhibition Hall of Çevik Uraz Center. 
Students taking the course Visual Communication and Basic Design 1 (VICD101CIU)  offered by Lecturer Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eser Keçeçi from the Faculty of Communication, Department of Visual Communication and Design (DVCD), created these works that were exhibited in the Exhibition Hall. 
Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Dean of the Faculty of Communication, Prof. Dr. Aytekin İşman expressed his satisfaction with the work done by the students and said, "Our aim is to recognize the talents of our students and blend them with the education they receive." He stated that students developed different perspectives while producing their works, and added that these works will be valuable experiences for students in the future.
Vice Dean of the Faculty of Communication, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dilan Çiftçi reminded at the opening that the Departments of Visual Communication Design and Digital Game Design organized three exhibitions this past term, and pointed out that it is important for the students to have the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge they have learned within the scope of the said exhibition activities. Çiftçi also reminded that the Faculty of Communication participated in many events this past term, and stated that they will continue to offer student-centered education.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eser Keçeçi in her opening speech said that they tried to convey the basic principles and rules of design to students through  the works they created within the scope of the exhibition, and emphasized the harmonic stance of design in the students' works; being in balance and harmony; unity, hierarchy of arrangement in order of importance, relationship of size and quantity relative to each other and also elements such as ratio - proportion and suitability.
Dr. Keçeçi pointed out that students have been working  on a variety of projects throughout the semester,  using alienation and  metamorphosis techniques.  Keçeçi concluded by stating that students created projects within the scope of color theory and that they also had the opportunity to experiment on 3-D applications.
