At the summit, of which the theme was “Turkish Public Administration and Digital Transformation”, round tables took place on issues related to education, health, local and general administrations, the working order of public officials, the impact of technology use on social life, and the importance of being a digital state during COVID-19 and various reports were prepared on these issues.

The only participant from Cyprus

At the summit attended by more than 100 academics and representatives from the information sector working in the field of public administration and management information systems, Kaya was the only participant from Cyprus who mentioned that the pandemic process, which was considered as the management information systems test for institutions was an important process for corporate learning.

Kaya: “Minimum damage in institutions that managed to digitalize”

Asst. Prof. Dr. Kaya emphasized that the institutions that were digitalized and were able to revise their workflow plans accordingly during the COVID-19 period are affected with minimal damage. The digitalization of institutions and processes should not be considered as the buoy only during the pandemic period.

Kaya underlined that digitalization is important in terms of accelerating the processes, business efficiency, traceability, and accessibility from all channels.

Reminding that the use of digital tools is necessary for the protection of corporate memory, “attention should also be paid to the psychological effects of human-machine interaction during this digital process,” said Kaya and added that daily life integrated with technology is important to protect the personal data and privacy both ethically and legally.
