School of Health Sciences provides training to midwives and nurses
In cooperation with Cyprus International University (CIU) Vocational School of Health Sciences, First and Emergency Aid Program and Cyprus Turkish Nurses and Midwives Association (CTNMA), "Basic Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation Training" was provided to midwives and nurses working at Famagusta State Hospital.
The training of guides in the field of resuscitation, which is updated with evidence-based practices for midwives and nurses every 5 years, has been provided by CIU Health Sciences Vocational School Lecturer PRM. Kadir Çekiç and Specialist Nurse Elif İlkhan Kılıç.
Speaking about the trainings organized, Çekiç pointed out that health is a constantly developing field of science in the light of scientific studies and that current approaches should be followed in order to obtain effective results in health.
Stating that health workers working in this field cannot access up-to-date information due to the intensity of their professional lives, Çekiç noted that the trainings organized through Cyprus Turkish Nurses and Midwives Association (CTNMA) facilitate their colleagues' access to up-to-date information.
Çekiç stated that the "Basic Life Support" training covers interventions for people whose heart and breathing have stopped, and the "Neonatal Resuscitation" training covers medical practices in postnatal emergencies of newborn babies and said that the training in question was organized to update information about emergencies within the hospital.
Emphasizing that the trainings organized through Cyprus Turkish Nurses and Midwives Association (CTNMA), will continue to be supported through such educational activities conducted by CIU Vocational School of Health Sciences.
