Registrations for Internet and Network Technology Associate Degree Program Starts

Cyprus International University (CIU) has started accepting applications for an Associate Degree Program on Internet and Network Technology

School of Applied Sciences and Vocational School Director Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Yaratan drew attention that the use of the internet and information technology systems has increased and added: “For this reason, the need for people who will install and manage the use of widely used Internet and information technology systems has increased”.

Prof. Dr. Yaratan emphasized that with the rapid development of information technologies, it is important to install software and hardware, and the systems and networks that the internet and other software exist, and to ensure their security.

“We aim to train technicians, who can design and implement the infrastructure of systems and computer networks that the sector needs, can use the right technologies by analyzing the requirements, can perform maintenance and repair of systems, can perform network programming operations, can back-up and upgrade the systems,” said Yaratan.

He also clarified the mission of the program as follows: “Our mission is to equip the students with solid foundations in the relevant field and develop advanced practical and theoretical research skills”.

Doing research is an integral part of the institutions which especially provide education at an undergraduate level. It was indicated that the Department of Internet and Network Technology provides students with senior training and research opportunities consequently and the number of research conducted at the department has increased rapidly.
