Pandemic special issue under the leadership of CIU

A pandemic special issue of the international journal under the guest editorship of Asst. Prof. Dr. Tuğberk Kaya, faculty member from the School of Applied Sciences of Cyprus International University (CIU) continues to accept articles on the effect of all pandemics especially COVID-19 during the digitalization process of institutions.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Kaya drew attention to the point that in the special issue of the journal “International Journal of Public Administration in the Digital Age” (IJPADA), the focus will be on digital technologies that help health institutions in identifying and monitoring pandemics, digital technologies used to provide ways to get rid of economic contraction, and technologies to ensure effective management of epidemics.

The special issue will contribute to both crisis management and the effective functioning of the new order that will occur after the pandemic.

Underlining that the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic has been completed in our country but there is a possibility of a second wave, Kaya reminded that every institution has a great role in helping to prepare for the process in question. Asst. Prof. Dr. Kaya noted that there was a global organizational weakness in the first stage of the pandemic, “We once again understood the importance of digitalization in this process. The fact that institutions move away from excessive bureaucratic structures and adopt management models to adapt to the process will ensure that the work flow continues with minimal disruption during pandemic and other unexpected crisis situations."
