Entrepreneurship: The Engine of Innovation and Economic Growth

Cyprus International University (CIU) continues to work incessantly to develop the entrepreneurial  ecosystem and inspire innovative thinking n students.

On the occasion of the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2025, CIU Department of Business Administration faculty member Assist. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Çangar stated that entrepreneurship is a growing and transformational field, and said, “Today, one in every eight adults worldwide is actively in the process of starting a business. Entrepreneurship not only ensures individual success, but also enables societies to grow economically and develop innovative solutions.” Çangar stated that it is important for young entrepreneurs to contribute to the global economy with sustainable business ideas.

Çangar stated that in the seminars Cyprus International University  organizes throughout the academic year, current issues like green economy, digitalization and social entrepreneurship are  emphasized. CIU aspires to provide support  to its students so as to help them develop entrepreneurial projects. Çangar also stated that while the CIU Business Club provides students with a social environment to produce, develop and share ideas, CIU Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences academicians publish articles based on their research on current trends and developments in the field of entrepreneurship.

Furthermore, the CIU Start-Up Studio, an important part of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, stands out as a comprehensive support center for students and individuals who want to improve themselves in the field of entrepreneurship. Çangar stated that this platform offers entrepreneurial candidates the opportunity to develop ideas, create a business model and last but not least meet with investors.
