The Education Cooperation Agreement between CIU and PGM has been renewed

The existing “Education Cooperation Agreement” between the Police Headquarters (PGM) and Cyprus International University (CIU) has been updated and signed.

The protocol, which was signed at the Police Headquarters, was signed by Chief of Police Ahmet Soyalan on behalf of the Police Headquarters and by CIU Rector Prof. Dr. Halil Nadiri on behalf of Cyprus International University.

Within the scope of the protocol, the partners and children of the police officers that will receive education at the Cyprus International University can benefit from discounts. During the ceremony, CIU Vice Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emrah A. ERKURT, and PGM Director of Administrative Affairs and Personnel Affairs Hafife Çaluda, were both present.

Speaking during the Signature ceremony, Chief of Police Ahmet Soyalan thanked the Cyprus International University for presenting this opportunity of education to the Police Headquarters and hoped that this protocol would be beneficial for both institutions.

Explaining that personnel benefited from the opportunity provided by the Cyprus International University, Soyalan advised that he also benefited from this opportunity and completed his undergraduate education.

Soyalan added to his statement that they will continue to encourage their staff to improve themselves. Emphasizing the importance of following the rapidly changing technological developments and continuous education today, Soyalan drew attention to the fact that in order to analyze events correctly, education and development are essential.

Thanking the Cyprus International University Officials for the opportunities and facilities they have enabled to the Police Headquarters with this protocol, Chief of Police Soyalan stated that as the Police Headquarters, they are ready to give the university all forms of help and service.

In his speech, CIU Rector Prof. Dr. Nadiri noted that they established in 1997, and provide education across 12 Faculties and 8 Schools, as well as providing associate degree and undergraduate programs, and graduate and doctorate programs in many branches within the Graduate Education and Research Institute, and that the duty of universities is to serve the society they live in, not only keeping their knowledge within the campus.

Expressing that as the Cyprus International University they have a close collaboration with all institutions within the TRNC, Nadiri highlighted that they are always ready to contribute to these institutions with their accumulation of information and with the support of their academic staff.

Noting that CIU is ready to cooperate with all its academic and administrative units, in relation to matters where the Police Headquarters have a need, Prof. Dr. Nadiri went on to state, “Our university will continue to support them in the education of PGM personnel, their spouses, and children"

Expressing his belief in the continuation and development of the cooperation realized so far, Nadiri concluded, “I believe that we will have the opportunity to work together in other different projects. Within this context, I would like to thank the Chief of Police Ahmet Soyalan, and the other administrators of the Police Organization, with the wish that the protocol be beneficial”.
