What is CRC?
The Communication Research Center in Turkey, which is over 30 years old, works in order to assist communication education programs to complete their preparatory work in order to obtain accreditations. The foundation work of establishing a communication research center in Turkey began with the initiative of the UNESCO National Commission in the 1980s. Institutions operating in the area of communications at that time, was the Turkey Journalists’ Society, Mimar Sinan University Rectorate, Marmara University School of Press and Broadcasting Directorate, Istanbul School of Press and Broadcasting Directorate, Ankara School of Press and Broadcasting, Ministry of Culture Undersecretariat, and Representatives of the University of Anatolia, with which stakeholder meetings were held and thus CRC was founded in 1989 under the name of the Communication Research Association, via the contributions of press and broadcasting schools and universities that provided communication education, and alongside journalists, public relations experts and advertisers from the sector of communications.
