Women politicians, who have the right and the ability to speak as much as men, play an important role with relation to the passing of laws, especially on social issues, such as health or women, children, and LGBTQ rights.
Stating that it is for this reason that increasing the representation of women within parliament is a very important matter, Refik-Rogers drew attention to the importance of encouraging women’s participation within the political arena and underlined the important role played by the women’s quota in the last general election, where a record number of women were elected to parliament.

Advising that politics is a good tool for making change, Refik-Rogers concluded, “At the beginning, I participated in non-governmental organizations in order to create a change. However, if you want to make some real change, you need to be in a more regulatory or decision-making position".
