Admissions started to the CIU Artificial Intelligence Engineering Program
Artificial Intelligence Engineering Program of Cyprus International University (CIU) starts to accept students as of the Spring Semester of 2019-2020 Academic Year.
The Chair of Department of Computer Engineering, Asst. Prof. Dr. Devrim Seral, pointed out that artificial intelligence is one of the fastest-growing fields and said, “The simplest expression is that artificial intelligence is the work that combines human intelligence with the help of computer systems”.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Seral stated that the developments in the field of artificial intelligence led to the change of the classical engineering fields and it was decided to open the Artificial Intelligence Engineering Program under the Department of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering.
Giving information about the program, Seral detailed that they aim to train engineers who can contribute to the field of artificial intelligence engineering about software systems.
Also, Asst. Prof. Dr. Seral expressed their aim to provide students with skills in software analysis and development by examining the analysis and development stages of software systems using current technologies in the IT sector.
It was explained that the students will know about artificial intelligence, producing neural networks about the production of neural networks and effective use of computer systems during the education, which will normally perform tasks that require human intelligence and “They will also gain knowledge and skills that will enable them to play an innovative role in the research and development of new technologies,” said Asst. Prof. Dr. Seral.
The graduates can be employed in all divisions of the software and robotics sector, and today, in banking, health, engineering applications and many similar sectors in computer software and robotic applications artificial intelligence methods are needed.
Graduates from this program can pursue a career in software development, engineering, banking and finance, education, medicine and public sectors. Also, they believe that the Artificial Intelligence Engineering program will help meet the manpower need of the rapidly growing artificial intelligence field.
