Within the scope of the 57th National Library Week, Cyprus International University (CIU) has begun their celebrations with different activities organized by the Library Directorate.

Stating that library services and resources will be promoted throughout the week, CIU Library Manager Özlem Araz went on to say, “In this way, while ensuring that existing readers have the maximum benefit from every service, we will also try to reach new readers”.

Stating that the tools used for information sharing during the pandemic process have changed, Araz emphasized that that once again, the sharing of healthy and reliable information can only be made via the library and librarians.

Noting that as the CIU Library Directorate, as well as their own readership, they attempt to reach readers on the island as well as Turkey, all from different walks of life who have made requests, Araz also noted, "During Library Week, while promoting our services, during this week within the year dedicated to us, we want to celebrate all together. For this reason, we have prepared a program with rich content”.

Stating that as a library, by increasing the number of electronic resources during this difficult process and supporting readers via remote access, Özlem Araz added that information increases as it is shared, increasing the quality of both personal and social life.

Stating that they donated books to various institutions and that they started lending books between institutions, Araz elaborated, “We get our motivation from all our service users young and old, who need healthy and reliable information. During this period, the bond we established with them became stronger”.
