ABOUT
Cyprus International University Faculty of Arts and Sciences started its educational activities in the 2003-2004 academic year. The Faculty has a Department of Psychology and a Department of Basic and Human Sciences. In this faculty, which has been continuing its education and academic activities since the 2007-2008 academic year, both courses are given specific to the departments it hosts and common courses are given for the whole university with the contribution of the Department of Basic and Human Sciences.
Mission and Vision
The vision of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences is to be a faculty of choice with an internationally recognized education and research environment that constantly renews itself. It is a faculty that adopts universal values as a principle, aims for lifelong learning, is solution-oriented, constantly developing in parallel with technology, follows innovations and has academic activities at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
ACCREDITATIONS
The Turkish Language and Literature and Psychology (Turkish) Departments of our faculty have been accredited by FEDEK (Science, Literature, Faculty of Science and Letters, Faculty of Languages, History, and Geography Curriculum Programs Assessment and Accreditation Association) for five years. Being the first faculty in Cyprus to have the FEDEK accreditation, which only a few institutions in Turkey have as well, proves the existence of the national and global quality standards.
EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES
English is the medium of instruction used in the Department of Psychology, however Turkish is the medium of instruction in the Department of Turkish Language and Literature. Thus, students have the opportunity to study in an international environment. After students graduate, the faculty offers both postgraduate and doctorate programs using modern educational methods and equipment. Students receive support in their studies by taking elective courses in various areas of science, culture, and art.
In the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, which is based on the student-centered active "active" teaching method, the lecturers organize seminars etc. for the students apart from the curricula. work can be provided. With the Neuropsychology Research Laboratory and the Clinical Psychology Application and Research Laboratory, it can enable students to receive education on a more scientific basis. In addition, the publication of the Folklore/Literature journal, which is recognized by international scientific screening indexes, continues. The Faculty is proud of its alumni, who graduate with a positive mindset and an optimistic attitude about the future.
